Georgia's warm climate and abundant rainfall make for lush horse farms. The local equestrian community received world-wide attention when the Georgia International Horse Park served as the equestrian venue for the largest sporting event in the world: The 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. Over 600,000 visitors visited the during the Olympics and every day of competition was sold out. Spectators and athletes alike marveled at the beauty and grandeur of the Horse Park. Today, the more than 15 miles of horse trails at the Park offer scenic views of the former Olympic Endurance Course, and wind through wooded areas blended with open pastureland and streams. People enjoy a good life in Georgia as well. A world-class city, more than half of Metro Atlanta residents were born outside Georgia bringing a diverse, vibrant culture to the "Capital of the South."
