Tryon, NC

Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Tryon is the largest town in the area, though its population is a modest 1,795. The town, incorporated in the late 1800’s, was once known for its wineries. Despite having lost this craft during Prohibition, there are several vineyards around Tryon that flourish today. The local equestrian community has been thriving since the 1940’s, when Carter Brown organized the Tryon Riding and Hunt Club, as well as the area’s first steeplechase. Surrounded by gorgeous equestrian estates, and the scenic Pacelot River, Tryon is a vibrant and active community.
